OnePlus 6T: The Next OnePlus Smartphone Flagship

Next OnePlus Smartphone Flagship Android: OnePlus 6T

According to CNET, the next OnePlus Smartphone flagship, OnePlus 6T, will launch this October and T-mobile will be its first exclusive US carrier partner. In other words, a specific version of OnePlus optimized for T-mobile network.

According to people familiar with the launch plans, the optimized flagship would also include the new 600 MHz spectrum which will bring better and faster coverage network.

Apart from the T-Mobile exclusive, the company will still sell its global unlocked version for AT&T and other overseas networks. Verizon and Sprint carriers are still far away from the One Plus devices because of the different wireless standards and issues with network certification.

As for the price, CNET’s contacts are saying $550 is the rough figure. That follows the $479 OnePlus 5, the $499 OnePlus 5T, and the $529 OnePlus 6, which sounds about right – just a little pricier than the OnePlus 6. In the UK, that phone starts at £469, so the OnePlus 6T might just scrape under £500.

The OnePlus 6 was the first in the line of handsets to sport a glass back, and it seems like a good bet that the OnePlus 6T will follow suit. What we might see is a bump in resolution, because the 1080 x 2280 pixels sported by the OnePlus 6 isn’t up with Android flagships of 2018.

it’s certain for oneplus 6T the next OnePlus Smartphone flagship to have 16GB storage level, Ram could be 6GB and 8GB options.

The top-end storage level might get a bump to 512GB from 256GB, bearing in mind that OnePlus doesn’t usually include a microSD card slot inside its phones: the amount of storage you buy to begin with is the amount you’ve got to live with.

If there are any specs boosts they might come in the camera department, if OnePlus has managed to improve on the 16MP+20MP dual-lens rear-facing camera on the OnePlus 6. It would certainly give users a reason to buy the OnePlus 6T.

The ‘T’ models are typically tweaked versions of the previous release – usually with a processor bump, and in the 5T we also saw the introduction of an 18:9 display. But the OnePlus 6 is already running the latest processor, and it already has an 18:9 display with dual-camera at the rear. Realistically, where can the company go with the next model?

Well, although we think it offers serious bang for your buck, there is room for improvement:

Wireless charging

This one’s not just a hunch: OnePlus hinted to us during the OnePlus 6 launch that the new glass back might allow it to add wireless charging at some point in the future. All the main competitors have wireless charging, so it’s time for OnePlus to join the trend.

The OnePlus 6 has improved water-resistance, but it’s not fully waterproof. We’d like to see IP68 waterproofing, in line with rivals.

Removal of the notch

When OnePlus added a notch screen to its OnePlus 6 it had no way of knowing just how much it would upset fans. In the end the company promised to allow the notch to be removed through a software tweak, but we think the next step will be no notch by default.

Enhanced photography

One of the most anticipated launches of 2018 has been the Huawei Mate P20 Pro, which boasts three cameras at the rear. But for OnePlus 6T the next OnePlus Smartphone flagship its might come with 16Mp+20Mp+8Mp camera, but do note it’s merely a concept and such a feature may not be present in the device.

Snapdragon 855

We don’t expect to see any Snapdragon 855 smartphones until 2019, but there are whispers that the success of the OnePlus 6 will encourage Qualcomm to release the 855 early for the upcoming 6T.
